IMO he just using trade imbalance leverage. I'm not a big fan of tariffs unless all other alternatives have been exhausted. For one, Incentives such as accelerated depreciation for new plant and equipment put in service here. IMO With the gas prices looking stable and more recent US big hydrocarbon discoveries. I think Americans will want bigger cars,Trucks & SUVs.
