Well, that girl obviously was a little odd, even in 1972, and although I may have gotten an explanation at the time I sure don't remember it. But you're right, anomalies are going to exist.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not saying we should outlaw abortion. Only that it seems most people have a preference, as you suggest, for avoiding the situation except at the moment two people need most to be thinking about it. So, I do believe we agree on that much at least.

Seems like the only point of disagreement is on whether fetuses can have rights, and whether there should ever be a prohibition on abortion. (Not to minimize the scope of the disagreement lol).

Like many people, I don't like the idea of wholesale abortions and see them as a necessary evil. But I just can't get on board with late term abortions because I'm not convinced that human life "begins" at the moment of conception, OR at the exit of the birth canal. As to precisely when, I'm like everyone else and can't really put a number on it. Hence, I think we should err on the side of caution.

Not trying to be a fanatic here. I recognize the issue remains unsettled in the eyes of many, including me. So, yeah, it is just my 2c... ;)
