Franz,
another thing IBM brings that Apple sorely lacks is seasoned business savvy. Apple reminds me of cliches about the brilliant entrepenuer(s) who starts a company on a wonderful idea, but cannot run it once the initial innovation gets a bit mature -- classic S-curve stuff. Jobs has brought back that original spirit, but (surprise!!!) the business is now so cut-throat that spirit won't carry very far this time around.

Now, the REAL trick would be to get the two cultures to collaborate productively... no small order.
