jbn3, India has always had entrepreneurs and deep thinkers.. I will admit that on my visits to India I was very upset with caste and social heirarchy. It exits in every country, in the US there is racism, but in India (and I assume other countries I did not visit) there was religious racism. This is a strong statement and is only my own opinion is anyone takes offense.

But I wondered how I could be in a country that held more trained engineers than any other country in the world, while health facilities were in deplorable shape. I wondered how so many brilliant mathmaticians could contemplate in a culture of exponential differentiation. I wondered how I could see so many poor and so many exceptionally rich. While on return aircraft I saw flight attendants treated like poor street labor by the enlightened upper class, which to me only indicated that attitudes from home projected out into the world. I wondered also about my love of India's people and their endurance.

India, IMO, is growing its future on the hopes of a strong and vocal middle class. If some are millionares that's great, I hope they bring up other millionares and many 10 thousand to 40 thousand airs in their prosperity.
