Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the contribution while in Malta, for the Commonwealth summit. The government is partnering with Canadian company Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) on the project, which they say will train youth in information and communications technology. The project is part of the government’s promise to focus on poverty reduction by creating jobs and businesses. The government says the project is expected to benefit about 200,000 youth.
