I am not trained in corporate finance and I would be interested in what the options are. "Or better yet look at their own backyards from not so distant past and see if they could talk SGI/Cray into using fibre channel instead of HIPPI for this project..." FC is not 6.4 gig HIPPI, check previous posts here on HIPPI projects and the political aspects of these deals. George D.
