I updated a few computers and a few laptops with SSD drives. The SSD came with a version of acronis. I cloned the hard drives to the SSD drives accross USB. I installed SSD in a USB case and cloned them. Then when I placed the SSD in the computers or laptops they came up no problem. All were windows 7 pro or ultimate.

may have been a little bit of a hiccup with linux. I don't recall exactly.
