HP color printers seem to get the most complaints.

This may not hold true for all color printers, but some tactics that have been used to sell ink include disabling the scanner when ink is low and refusing to print from ink cartridges that have reached an expiration date, which is no doubt to keep people from refilling old ink cartridges.

Btw, what brand of color printer do you have?
