China, historically, have always had a large population.
compared to Europe:
  • No Black death,
  • Not protestants going to the throat of the catholics and vice versa,
  • No money from colonies to finance wars...
  • No killing technology, which only constant war can foster
Once the new world discovered new crops they were brought to China and the population skyrocketed.
Result: Diaspora.
