Nice piece. The tribes coming from the east, found flat land with grass that enable use of horses and they interacted (it is not called Eurasian for nothing) as you say with the westerners.

No interaction is no good.

If we look to the west you will see another disadvantage of China vis a vis Western Europe

Western Europe had the advantage to have southern interaction with Phoenicians and all kinds of Jews that traded across the Maghreb plus the Africans coming from Morocco and crossing Gibraltar and invading Iberia.
That avoided the monolith that can make people be -one trick pony- of limited imagination and can be herded to build walls.

TJ fails to see that there is no short cut to progress. The 300 of delays need 300 to catch up.
