Jim- off topic
I see those projections- the pyramid of population-we have a major problem at hand we just love to do it- our growth rate is 2.7%, we should bring it down to 1.7% a full percent drop.

Projections going forward look very bleak and the scenerio you have referred is a possibility if 2.7% rate persists but I think we may be able to stabilise the population growth at 197 million by year 2010 as a result of good measures by the population planning division- the use of contraceptives is on rise as couples realise higher cost bringing bigger families diffcult to raise.Lack of education poverty and accomodation with poverty plays ever important role- if we control infant mortality provide education and improve our basic care health we will win half the battle. Population expansion is a phenomenon that find its roots in low income countries, development and population growth are inversely related- so problem is lack of development.

As if lack of development is not enough our problem is increasing number of mouths need to be fed with dropping per acre yields is making feeding of nation a great challenge as we move forward if population is not controlled- We have River Indus one of the 20 largest rivers but 50 MAF of water is wasted to sea- we need to dam the river but unfortunately we are politically divided on spilitting royalties from this dam on provincial basis. Spectre of famine look into our faces as we move into the next century as increased population puts pressure on shrinking resource base- resourse base need to be expanded.

To top it off-Ideological License to breed blunt any restrictions on breeding. Clergy encourages people to indulge in act of procreation with license and extensively quote wink of approval from divinity. Once armed with approval of the All Merciful - couples shackled with taboos and lack of mass entertainment miss no chance to indulge in cheapest available entertainment condoned and appreciated by God to multiply and grow. The clergy has a good explanation too 'a child born has two hands and one mouth' the two hands will grow enough to feed one mouth but who can discuss the 'geometrical' progression of two hands and arithmetical progression of resources.

I hope I can go on - this is one of my subjects of great interest but with Japan unexppectedly down and selling in ASEA I would rather reorient my self for today's strategy.
