I think he has some great characteristics that are being overlooked because of his twitter abuse, pussy grabbing, and his commitment to always responding to criticism (which he has explained: He always responds to criticism because if you don't it comes back and bites you; I don't know if that is correct, but it is what he does, and his approach is hardball, and I'm okay with that).
The pussy grabbing comment was carefully planned by the Clinton administration -- they knew they had that tape available for a long time. Clinton clearly had this series of events -- the Kahns at the convention, the pussy grabbing comment, the bimbo eruptions of a dozen women, the stolen tax information -- ALL well planned and coordinated with the expectation she could avoid having to have any policy of her own, that she could make it to the White House with just bashing him. Had he not responded as he did we do not know what would have happened.
Because it was clear to me at the time these events were planned and orchestrated (and perhaps paid for), when he responded I was of the mind, "The gloves are off -- and they should be". Everyone kept thinking these things would kill him, but at the end of the day he worked his ASS off to win this election.
I was sitting here working the night before election night, and he made that final stop in Michigan. This was astounding to me, because he had already done about 6 speeches that day. The back story, which I didn't know, was that at 6pm on that day he heard that Clinton was going to Michigan. He says, "We're going to add Michigan" -- and at 1:00 in the morning, he was there, and the crowd was huge, and they loved it. They put that thing together in 6 hours. This is execution.
I think his ability to work long hours and stay alert is a big deal. The only other person I ever knew who could do it at that age was my dad. I'm younger than Trump and no way I could hold down a schedule like that. Clinton couldn't, either. It is going to make a difference IMO. |
