I agree that for consumers, competition is very good ... However as an
investor, it is more important to understand the core competencies and
technologies of a company before heavily investing. "Hoping and Praying"
for a stock/company to take on Intel ... is NOT investing. NSM and AMD
committing financial suicide in the name of competition will not make
the shareholders happy. The thing I have found on this thread and the
AMD thread is the "rooting for the underdog", "competition is good for
the consumer" approach that clouds ones rational thinking to the point where
people start making emotional decisions ... and losing a lot of money.
