...click on "Chart" and then "Candle" to set up the generator. Don't bother turning on the volume for an index, Dave. Click on the lower-right panel to get a summary rather than a quote stream. In the window where you type in a ticker symbol, type in OSX.X,D to get a Daily chart. For big oil, type in XOI.X,D
This (index) chart generator is real-time during trading hours, and you can set the intra-day candlesticks to any time-slice you want; ie., try OSX.X,3 for 3-minute candles and OSX.X,90 for 90-minute. Stocks, such as SLB,D are delayed 10-20 minutes, but you can watch them intra-day nonetheless. Try SLB,W for weekly candlestick ( and note that the price shown on the chart itself is real-time ;-)
This chart generator also charts the prices of OPTIONS (!) Try OSXAB and you can see where I closed my OSX.X JAN 110 CALLs last Thursday.
BTW, CL98F,D is the Crude Oil Futures, JAN-98, Daily (NYMEX). CL98G is FEB-98 and CL98H is MAR-98.
The S&P - 500 Futures are SP98H (delayed). The corresponding AMEX:SPDR is SPY (delayed). The S&P-500 index is INX and you can click on it in the upper-right panel; The S&P-100 is OEX and these are real-time during the day.
Finally, here's another one; Not much data history there, but also useful for generating Candlestick Charts with some T/A indicators...
