The fact remains that other countries do in fact do better than the USA on many metrics while conducting their societies quite differently.

The fact also remains that the US does better than they do on many metrics while "conducting its society" differently. The fact also remains that they "conduct their society" differently from each other. Its not X an Y groups with only one member in X, its A-Z all different.

Then you want me to back out deaths from violence in our society in order to "fairly" compare against others. LOL!

If your trying to measure the effect of the health care, or health care payment systems in each country to that of other countries yes. Arguably it doesn't even make sense to use life expectancy as a measure at all since it isn't primarily determined by the health care system, still less by the health care payment systems; but if you are going to try to make such a comparison you have to control for as many things as you can that are not part of the health care payment systems in each country. If you won't or can't than your data is useless.

If OTOH you want to just make the case for gun control,than different violence levels are relevant, but their exact relevance is less clear then you seem to make it out to be. A more violent society would give more reason for the law abiding to want a gun. As for gun control reducing murder, it certainly doesn't show up when you compare states with more or less gun control or European countries with more or less gun control.
