Libertarians are wedded to the ideological concept that THERE CANNOT BE ANY RIGHT ANSWERS TO ANY QUESTION. If they concede there are correct answers, then that leaves the door open to a collective response, and that is anathema to a Libertarian...Therefore smoking doesn't cause cancer, guns don't contribute to violence, humans burning fossil fuels aren't causing the climate to warm up, socialized medicine can't work, the earth is only 6K y/o and evolution is a hoax ready to collapse due to the huge weight of evidence against, etc, etc.
Wow! WOW!!!
I admit that I don't pay much attention to the Libertarian Party. You capitalized libertarian so maybe that's what you're talking about. Bunch of amateurs. As for libertarians, not capitalized, I am one, have been since the sixties, before there was a party. I have never heard of such a thing as you describe. You might as well have told me that my skin is green and I have six arms for all I recognize what you wrote.
I don't know what else to say.
Except an anecdote that might amuse. I recently stumbled upon some folks that call themselves libertarian Christians via an article about whether that was an oxymoron. Of course, my immediate reaction was, yes, of course, oxymoron, but, ever curious, I looked into how those two might be reconciled. Turns out, not without twisting one's thinking into a pretzel, IMO. At least for the young-earth subset of Christians.
So here you go cavalierly smushing the two together. Wow. |
