FWIW, Sunday Jacksonville, FL Times-Union computer column giving "tips for those who haven't managed to break their Christmas toys yet":
"[M]ake regular back-ups. Your new system may have come with a built-in Zip drive or similar device that can hold large amounts of data. If not, such devices are fairly inexpensive. If you have data that you can't afford to lose, it's a good idea to invest in one of these and back up your data weekly."
