UK Financial Times article during xmas break had an overview of winners and losers (sector and company) in aftermath of Aisia crises; some interesting points were raised which may be relevant to this thread.

Texas instruments was directly singled out as a winner in the Aisian sector because of its policy of direct investment in the region which insulates it from Exchange rate problems. (i.e production fascilities in Aisia).

They also sighted continued expansion in networking/telecommunications
within Europe with infrastructure projects featuring throughout western and eastern Europe; Lucent was directly singled out as a company positioned to exploit this market.

Generally overview remains bullish for ICOM's sector but I was particularly intersted in the reference to Texas Instruments.....Texas and ICOM already working together in R&D .....I think the case for consolidation in the sector is growing particularly on back of Aisia problems.....Texas & ICOM? any further thoughts on that?
