No matter what I think of the present Israeli government, but for over 3 millennia Jerusalem was and is the capital of the Jewish nation of which Israel is a part of it. This fact is recited every year for over 2000 year in the diaspora, on each Passover celebration. Some nomads that settled within the National Home of the Jewish people as defined by the Balfour declaration and ratified by the US Congress in June 1922 have no rights over the lands defined in this declaration.

On November 2, 1917, Britain issued the Balfour Declaration:

His Majesty's Government views with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.

According to the Peel Commission, appointed by the British Government to investigate the cause of the 1936 Arab riots, "the field in which the Jewish National Home was to be established was understood, at the time of the Balfour Declaration, to be the whole of historic Palestine, including Transjordan."

The Mandate for Palestine's purpose was to put into effect the Balfour Declaration. It specifically referred to "the historical connections of the Jewish people with Palestine" and to the moral validity of "reconstituting their National Home in that country." The term "reconstituting" shows recognition of the fact that Palestine had been the Jews' home. Furthermore, the British were instructed to "use their best endeavors to facilitate" Jewish immigration, to encourage settlement on the land and to "secure" the Jewish National Home. The word "Arab" does not appear in the Mandatory award.

The Mandate was formalized by the 52 governments at the League of Nations on July 24, 1922.

Representative Walter M. Chandler from New York - I want to make at this time, Mr. Speaker and gentlemen of the House, my attitude and views upon the Arab question in Palestine very clear and emphatic. I am in favor of carrying out one of the three following policies, to be preferred in the order in which they are named:
(1) That the Arabs shall be permitted to remain in Palestine under Jewish government and domination, and with their civil and religious rights guaranteed to them through the British mandate and under terms of the Balfour declaration.
(2) That if they will not consent to Jewish government and domination, they shall be required to sell their lands at a just valuation and retire into the Arab territory which has been assigned to them by the League of Nations in the general reconstruction of the countries of the east.
(3) That if they will not consent to Jewish government and domination, under conditions of right and justice, or to sell their lands at a just valuation and to retire into their own countries, they shall be driven from Palestine by force.
Most of the migrant workers from building the Suez Canal and others that where expelled from their villages or cities from today Iraq to Greater Arabia settled in this land. Unlawfully to gain popularity, the Hashemite Kingdom distributed land belonging to the state under the British Mandate free of charges to all kind of refugees who now set claim on the land.


Going back to to the times of Napoleon en.wikipedia.org or the Crusaders en.wikipedia.org there were barely any population from Jaffa to Syria there barely any meaningful cities (except Jerusalem) in what is now the land of the Jews from the Jordan River to the sea
