Obama did a fabulous job of conflating health care and health insurance.

If you liked your money you cannot keep your money. <NG>

If everyone paid for their healthcare, it would be less than they currently pay for healthcare plus health insurance.

When I take my car in for service they are required to show me what it costs before the works starts. Why doesn't healthcare work that way?

There are only two reasons for health insurance and one is bogus.

1) catastrophic, average the cost over a large number of people.
2) poor people who can't even pay for a routine visit. Thus is income redistribution and not really a need for insurance.

Here is a simple solution, everyone must file an income tax return. Your tax bracket determines the percent of your medical bills you are responsible for.

0 bracket = 5%
15%= 75%
25% = 100%
35% = 115%
