First of all, he probably has the hide of a rhinoceros.

But he pretends via twitter that he has a thin skin. He stimulates more attacks giving this impression. I think he really enjoys personal conflict. It gives him an out to show the true nature and lack of accomplishments by his opponents. He did it this morning by replying to John Lewis who has done very little for his district since the Civil Rights days.
