I can only assume the lobbying was FROM the medical industry, so they can obfuscate. I have a friend who has a sky high deductible, and she called about getting a colonoscopy a couple years ago. Q: How much will it cost? A: We don't know! Q: Will it be more than a thousand dollars? A: We don't know! Q: Will it be more than FIVE thousand dollars?? A: We don't know! Yep... You CANNOT force them to do anything in those states. And if they mess up, e.g. give you a MRSA infection, pay through the nose for what is mostly their error and negligence, imo.
