From the Hellenes....This idea of God breathing or God's breath is found all over the Christian & Jewish texts, taken from the Greek word Theopneustos, which literally means "God-breathed." by joining the words theos (God) with pneustos (breath). Holy Spirit= God's Breath or God Breathed.

Also this is where the words 'INSPIRE' and 'INSPIRATION' come::

From the Latin transliteration of 'Theopneustos' comes these words today, Inspired or Inspiration. Its nice once in a while, even often to go to the source, in this case the Greek but now another mystery pops up because this idea of 'God's Breath' is also from the far older Hindu Upanishad literature as well.

There was much contact with India & those ideas thru the Greek Seleucid dynasty, which existed from 312 BC to 63 BC; it was founded by Seleucus I Nicator following the division of the Macedonian empire vastly expanded by Alexander the Great. This empire also included Judea.

In 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV), Paul states, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." This is the only use in the Bible of the Greek word theopneustos, which literally means "God-breathed." It joins the words theos (God) with pneustos (breath) to convey the idea that Scripture is breathed out by God, serving as an extension of God Himself.
