Do you think any 'God' really cares how men find Inspiration to live & train in righteousness? To live with such detachment to allow for charity & sanctity in their hearts?

Or shall they go about slapping themselves upon the back making known to all publicly how many prayers they've offered up, sacrifices they'd payed the priests for? And kept the Sabbath holy because of their wealth and the slave labor they could afford?

Have often wondered at the many similarities between the Stoic philosophy & Buddhist thought of detachment, the resemblances are uncanny. This would fit in perfectly with the timing since the Hellenes were very much in contact with India post Alexander's conquests thru to India. Stoicism arrives on the scene just after around 300BC as well, the spice silk roads East & West into Turkey & Greece were very active starting then as well.

This is how religious & philosophical ideas travel!
