Why do you refer to them as isil and not isis??? Do you realize the difference??? i think i do.....
Islamic State: This is the English version of what the terror group calls itself. It also claims to be a caliphate, which is a state ruled by a caliph, which is Arabic for "successor," meaning successor to the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. The last generally acknowledged Muslim caliphate was the Ottoman Empire, which ended in 1923. Many governments and media refuse to use this name because it gives the group legitimacy as a state and a representative of Islam.
Indeed, the media wants to create their fables (again) but the reality is these savages see themselves as 'very legitimate' so why don't we call the thing what it is... a LEGITIMATE BAND OF ASSASSINS, and DEAL WITH THEM ACCORDINGLY.
What a better 'legitimization" of the group by the muslim himself.... (who btw.. refers to them as ISIL) he armed these animals.....
ISIS: The militant group, which began as the Iraqi branch of al Qaeda during the U.S. occupation, gained this name after it invaded Syria in 2013. ISIS is short for "Islamic State in Iraq and Syria," or "Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham," which is an old Arabic term for the area.
ISIL: ISIL translates to “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.” The Levant is a geographical term that refers to the eastern shore of the Mediterranean -- Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel and Jordan. It’s the term the U.S. government uses since the "Levant" is apparently a better translation for al-Sham, the Arabic name for the region.
operation zero foot print.....

We now have a pretty good understanding of who, what, where, and why surrounding the 9/11/12 attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi Libya. We are also better positioned to understand why, or perhaps more importantly why not, certain actions were taken before, during, and in the immediate aftermath of the attack itself. what's in a name ?
Levant
Definition of Levant the countries bordering on the eastern Mediterranean Sea —often thought of as extending from Greece to Egypt

The name Levant States was used to refer to the French mandate over Syria and Lebanon after World War I. [1] [2] This is probably the reason why the term Levant has come to be used synonymously with Syria-Palestine. [1] Some scholars misunderstood the term thinking that it derives from the name of Lebanon. [1] Today the term is typically used in conjunction with prehistoric or ancient historical references. It has the same meaning as Syria-Palestine or the region of Syria ( Arabic: ????? /?a?-?a?m/), that is, it means an area bounded by the Taurus Mountains of Turkey in the North, the Mediterranean Sea in the west, and the north Arabian Desert and Mesopotamia in the east. [11] It does not include Anatolia (the former Asia Minor, now Asian Turkey; although at times Cilicia may be included), the Caucasus Mountains, or any part of the Arabian Peninsula proper. The Sinai Peninsula (Asian Egypt) is sometimes included, though more considered an intermediate, peripheral or marginal area forming a land bridge between the Levant and northern African Egypt.[ not verified in body]
The Levant has been described as the "crossroads of western Asia, the eastern Mediterranean, and northeast Africa", [12] and the "northwest of the Arabian plate". [13]
In my opinion, i believe that ISIS/ISIL see themselves as a force to re-establish some form of caliphate that will encompass a larger area then strictly Iraq & Syria...
the definition of Levante (Spanish) encompass a much larger area than Iraq & Syria and i am convinced these savages think of themselves as some form of re-conquest of this larger area.... and as per some declarations, some of them intent to go after Europe... (or the rest of the world for that matter)
therefore Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant(e) seems more accurate to me.
other than a name... i do not care what you call it... (you can call it pancho villa if you wish)
the important point is to destroy these bastards
---------
to me this sounds more like a continuation of the crusades (iow christians ~vs~ muslims)... same old, same old...
i know that the first crusade started a few years later (1095)... however, Islam's attacks on europe started earlier..... back in the year 711 the moors invaded spain... and while there was resistance to this invasion since around 718 it took the Spaniards nearly 800 years to "re-conquest" their own territory (1492) ..... they used to refer as the caliphate of Cordoba (invaded territory in Spain)
and now the completely retarded european leaders are letting these savages in again.....
only a small portion of the Iberian peninsula was free from the moors (the kingdom of Asturias in the north), where the "reconquista' begun....
there is another reference to the name.... although i am not sure this applies.... but it is associated with the forces in play: (christians ~v~ muslims) and the name is the Battle of Lepanto (1571) not sure if Lepanto translates as Levante.... probably not |
