Interesting. I have a Yoga 2 that is about 3-4 years old now. Over the past few months, it has refused to start up when I turn it on--it just stops. I have to give it a hard shut down then restart it. It works fine after that. It hasn't happened often, maybe 4 or 5 times over a 4-5 month period. I presume that that means it is hitting a bad block and then after restarting, the controller or firmware (I'm not sure which one does this) will mark the block as unusable. It doesn't seem to affect the drive in other ways. At least, so far.
