Perhaps the most intelligent thing the new administration has done is to freeze out the influence of the Republican neocons in foreign affairs. If anything, the election was a clear repudiation of the "regime change" elements of both parties (Graham, McCain, Bush, Clinton, Nuland, Kagan etc.).

As any schoolyard kid understands, you don't draw a line in the dirt if your not prepared to fight the bully, and NATO is not prepared to fight anybody over the Ukraine.

The Brits got sucked into two world wars they were not prepared to fight, lost an empire and two generations of their best and brightest over such worthless defense guarantees (1914 Belgium, 1939 Poland). We have no interest in the Ukraine other than to poke a sharp stick in Putin's eye.

Leave regime change alone, and make sure we are willing to sacrifice our children and grandchildren for more worthy causes.
