To all,......I just received the investors packit yesterday and I am still digesting it. For those who may not know, you to can get your packit by calling their office (805)373-8688.
My first question as I read there info is, "where is this phone-to-phone product that everyone is talking about?" I thought this was the primary reason most of us were investing into FTEL. They do make references to being a "Voice Provider", but what exactly does that mean? I could interpret it to mean they are just a means to hooking to a P.O.T.S (Plain Old Telephone Service).
Let me quote from the information packet a few paragraphs and tell me what You all think it means. It isn't real clear about it being phone-t0-phone:
FNET provides high quality internet access, as well as data communication products and services for businesses and individuals.
We have new multiprocessor servers, coupled with our high speed network backbone, ISDN and Frame Relay circuits, as well as new telephone lines.
Franklin interNet is also an authorized reseller for Pacific Bell, GTE, AT&T and MCI. We provide P.O.T.S.(Plain Old Telephone Service), as well as RF Wireless, High Speed ISDN, Centrex ISDN, Frame Relay, Fractional and Full T-1 circuits. We also provide all of the necessary equipment, including RF Modulators, ISDN Terminal Adapters, ISDN Routers, CSU/DSU's, Channel Banks, Firewalls, Data Encryption products, high speed routers, and more. All products are offered with installation and configuration. In other words we are equipped to handle whatever you may need.
Soon, FNET will introduce a new service for enhanced call processing. This unique service will enable FNET subscribers to complete calls from off-shore locations to any location in the U.S. via the internet. By using the international Internet, the subscriber will be connected with the U.S. public switched network using the long distance of their choice. The subscriber can choose from a variety of call completion options that include fax, international call back and voice messaging. All calls will be billed against a FNET issued membership card.
The last paragraph would be the closes thing I saw for phone-to-phone! This is just one question of probably many. I will post questions as I read the packet.
Good luck folks, I own 13,800 shares.
