That won't work, at least with any current technology. Nukes can't support the daily ramp up/down of demand. Gas is by far the best for balancing the variable load. Unless they develop massive storage, gas will remain necessary.

Hydro is the best "regulator". Immediate spinup and production.

Even gas needs time to come online.

Granted hydro is limited in it's capacity, not enough hydro plants around.....
