I don't know why it's halted - a Nasdaq listing perhaps? Canadian investors outside of Montreal remain clueless about this company and will remain that way if they depend on Canadian financial reporters to tell them. In spite of CGI's incredible performance in 1997, the only mention I could find in the Globe & Mail and Financial Post over the past week is that it's some consulting company in Montreal that will benefit from Year2000 - much like describing Kathy Ireland as an attractive woman who will benefit from some modelling contracts. Nasdaq would bring it to the attention of investors less interested in the resource and banking stocks that dominate the mindset of the Toronto market.
