In my planning for reglaciation, it was obvious that there is LOTS of vacant land that would be suitable for hordes of people. Israel is building lots of houses in Jerusalem for example. They could take another 10 million and not be full up. North Africa is enormous and empty other than around the nile and a few spots. The road to Las Vegas from San Diego could be loaded with umpty million people as Death Valley becomes lively. Australia is enormous and nearly empty.

Covering Oz in photovoltaics, water deionizing, accommodation and crops could be the next big things. I don't know how rainfall patterns would end up, but with the dew point moved towards the equator and at lower altitudes, the currently dry areas would go green. Sea level would fall by 100 metres as water evaporates and is dumped nearer the poles. Current beachfront properties would be made tsunami proof and become inland.

It's absurd that NZ, which has a housing crisis in Auckland with people unable to afford a house and government not allowing houses to be built is trying to get the UN to stop Israelis from building houses near Jerusalem. A house is a good thing to build.

The USA has been backing ISIS via Saudi Arabia [Obama's preference over Assad] and war in Syria which caused great destruction of houses. That's a bad thing. Building houses is a good thing. Who owns houses can change but if there's no house on desert that's not so good.
