We nominated George McGovern as President in 1972 and lost in a rout. Since then, we have continuously heard that no Left Wing candidate can possibly win the Presidency. The DNC has moved the Party to the center/right since then. As liberals, we have been outlaws in our country. But since Bernie Sanders declared his candidacy for President, there has been an outpouring of support for liberal causes. Some even say that Sanders could have beaten Donald Trump if the DNC did not rig its process against Sanders. Is there someone out there who champions liberal causes who can realistically beat Donald Trump in 2020? What causes are most important to you?
