The market is already looking passed the next couple qtrs for these equipment house stocks. What is holding them back is the murky picture of their business in 1997. Even AMAT and LRCX management would probably tell you that they are not sure about their 1997 business (AMAT did say just that at their last analyst conference call), and if their business slow down dramatically (and I am not say that it is), the current PE multiple will expand due to earning estimate cut.
