I find the whole concept of "surviving" as a solo prepper, to be very odd. We are social animals, and the only thing that is worth while surviving for, is a decent properly functioning civilized society.

Thomas Hobbes said it very well. Without society, the life of man is poor, nasty, brutish and short. I should probably have looked up the original quote (it's been 60 years since college), but can't be bothered - the spirit of the man's remarks is clear enough.
