I was referring to Barack, while you were referring to Michele. I understand where you are coming from: you are very idealistic and so am I in my individual relations with people. But I can't be idealistic about how many in the heartland of the USA feel about gays and its likely impact on a possible gay candidate.

It's like another poster who brought out that "making a Muslim the head of the DNC is playing right into the hands of the Republicans." Personally, I have no problem with that. But many swing voters in key states might.

And I don't think "love conquers all" if you are not open to love.
