Iheard on weekly business shows rumors of takeover of Ascend by
Lucent was rejected by Ascend at 35 and NT may be interested. If
this was true, things could be very interesting for Shiva. Shiva
doesn't like the deal being reworked by Jim Zucco, do they have the
clout to go to Mr Zuccos former employer, Lucent, and work out a
better deal for Shiva??? Or, do they strike a strong deal with
Northern Telecom which boosts sales, earnings, shareholder value?
Remember, executives as well as employees are all tied to Shiva stock
and personal net worths of Zucco and company can be greatly enhanced by share price moving north. Frank Ingari I have to believe while
out of day to day business, is closely involved as he has financial
stake and this is his baby. Things could get interesting if Shiva
exceeds lowered expectations, market conditions were to improve,
access concentrator does well, acquisition and industry consolidation
heats up again, strategic partnerships heat up. Should be interesting
