That argument simply doesn't hold water. Pretty much every person in the country of voting age has managed to get some kid of suitable ID. If you want to vote you need a voter ID. They all manage to get a SS card. Most get Drivers Licenses.

This claim is readily disproved. Go to Harlem and East St. Louis and ask a couple hundred people if it is a major problem to go get a lost drivers license replaced. Even with the DMV ridiculed as one of the most user unfriendly places on the planet, see how many seriously tell you it would be a problem.

It simply isn't a big deal. And you know it. If nothing else, phase it in over eight years. If someone can't get to the DMV and get a Voter ID card in eight years they simply aren't trying.

But this is a direction we must and will move to. It is utterly stupid not to do it. If you want to drive you have a drivers license. If you want to vote you have a voter ID.

Christ. I cannot imagine trying to make the argument you are making. It is utter nonsense.
