Flynn, the Russian spy! White nationalist Bannon dressed as Darth Vaderish as he can get away with. And Preibus and Pence. Pence, what are you doing with these people? He was asked to be there, not by Trump though - see below.

I just hope Trump doesn't allow himself to be manipulated. I'm scared Putin will stroke his ego to where his guard will go down. I had a friend like Trump that I grew up with who was just as narcissistic. We grew up together and loved each other like brothers but he could be a dick. So I'd manipulate him, for fun, as retribution. Play his ego against him. Get him to buy things. Throw things away. Say things. I could get him to do dang near anything all because of his ego. I did have a limit to live by and he did deserve it. Trust me. Trump could be done the same way. I'm very happy, for the most part, or more accurately, pleasantly surprised, with how he's done so far but his ego is his weakness and I'd be surprised if Putin doesn't see it being who he is.

I've talked with a lot of people who share that same concern, even people who are favorably disposed towards Trump or those who don't hold any particular negative sentiment towards him. The story about your friend is a story of a person with narcissism--easily manipulated by how you stroked his ego. Of course, you set limits on it and it was just an interaction between a couple of guys that really has no major consequence for the country (I assume?)
Putin is a dictator despite the "elections" in Russia. He became furious with Hillary in 2011 when she was SoS and in Russia during the Russian Presidential election. Hillary had spoken publicly to a large Russian crowd (it aired on live TV as well) that elections should be free and fair, and if the same person keeps being re-elected it is not truly free and fair. Putin won again, and there were protests so Putin blamed Hillary. Journalists who have dissented have "disappeared" and he jailed the band P*ssy Riot for criticizing him. With that being said, he's not a stupid guy and seems to have picked up very quickly on how to handle Trump.

There is a reason that Putin sent Trump the very, very flattering letter congratulating him on his win, and why Putin likes to compliment Trump. Ya don't need to be a psychologist to understand what motivates Trump. I'm willing to bet my house, car, and annual salary three times over that Putin knows ALL about how to move Trump.
Pence is a good balance to him, as I don't think that Pence is swayed by people trying to flatter or insult him. Let's just make sure that Pence goes along on that trip to Russia...
