!Kung,

>>I come neither to bury nor praise him.<<

Thanks, Mark Anthony.

In the past, biotech stocks have gotten some ridiculous, premature valuations (and we'll probably see those again some day). Right now, however, I think we're seeing the opposite with overly pessimistic valuations seemingly assuming that many biotechs are going out of business tomorrow.

In reality, we may be standing at the beginning of the true biotech revolution. As witness see the rate at which companies in the sector are licensing out their platforms into fields far removed from the fickle finger of the FDA; IMHO thats a true sign of technology validation. Couple this with an information explosion (assuming we don't defund all of our academic researchers) that will provide the basis for ever more rapid (and hopefully more efficient) advances and in the mid-term IMO this sector is poised for some good returns. Of course, long term I'm still concerned about the problem of intra-sector cannibalism... but this is supposed to a rah-rah posting.

And tomorrow I stop sniffing glue.
