Stratospheric warming going on.

The warming is so strong, it'll split the polar vortex into 2. It takes the atmosphere around 10 days to respond.
IMO, it'll take a couple of punches. This is my opinion, and I write it on how I understand the connections. It's like a market prediction, and I may have to revise as things unfold, but cold is coming 2nd half of Febraury.

The first low will track from Texas to Michigan and up to Hudson Bay, while the cold air comes from behind...around Feb 9-11. There'll be a lull followed by a second storm (from the Pacific NW) will hit Great Lakes and bring more cold air around Feb 15-16. Around Feb 20, the models will start showing an epic nor'easter for Feb 23, and that'll be followed by another monster low Feb 27.

If nat-gas were trading on my expected forecast, it would be a major buy opportunity. It could be until Feb 10 before these forecasts of midwest storms followed by cold shots become more a reality. Seems like it wants to fill the gap at 3-ish, but I'll keep an eye on it.
