Horgad to make generalizations is always wrong, and you fell into this trap.

"It is more expensive and complicated to hire highly talented H1Bs that have hard to find skill sets than it is to hire equivalent US citizens."

Over 30 years ago I arrived on H1B visa because when still working in Israel for a defense contractor, I cooperated in R&D work with the US Army Signal Corps and they where interested in patents I had to shield tactical telecommunication gear against EMP. Luckily EMP devices where never needed as world sanity overcame the madness.

Other of my abilities where to substantially improve the quality of US Army subcontractors products for tactical telecommunication gear by changing manufacturing processes and streamline productions. The Signal Corps Command people at Fort Monmouth embraced me upon my arrival.

I was never overpaid for my qualification and to the contrary middle management at certain corporation hated my guts because I proved them wrong and showed them how to do things right.

Further few years later, I cooperated with law enforcement agencies and assisted to bring white collar law violators to justice. Without my expert testimony before Grand Juries is questionable if they would have succeeded.

Can you put a price on the positive results of what I did including indirectly for the Signal Corps of the US Army etc., ?

It also questionable if locals would have helped as they where soiling their pants of fear to override their bosses decisions. BTW some of my best friends where decorated Vietnam war veterans with whom I had a common language partly because we knew what is important in life.

I take your remarks as personally very offensive, because I contributed to the US much more than many native born US citizen, have done in their whole life, and I arrived on a H1B visa which later was converted into citizenship.
