I once had a father of a teenage boy who was coming to my learning center in the early 90's tell me that "the Asians were taking away our jobs." My first instinct was to flip out on this guy, but I managed to control myself and ask a few calm questions: 1) What do you do for a living, sir? Answer: bartender 2) In what sense are these Asian immigrants taking our jobs? Answer: None, he looked at me befuddled. 3) Don't these Asians have just as much right to work here as you? Answer: None 4) I don't want to see your face here again, do you understand me? Response: He left. I never saw him again. The look on this guy's face was Klannish. He was very much a gutless sissy. That's why they were a white hood. My point is twofold here: 1) this hatred of immigrants has been going on a long time prior to Trump. Trump just took advantage of this sentiment among some of the bitter losers. 2) USA is screwed economically speaking if they limit the number of immigrants who can come to this country and/or ban immigrants because immigrants are the life blood of growth and innovation. Immigrants are very hungry creatures who spur growth. Wasn't Steve Jobs, Syrian?
