| | | I don't have a technical system other than looking at the trends and resistance on the charts. Right now I see the trend for metals and the industry as a whole as positive, so I have not sold many positions unless they were real stinkers like NOT. I missed uranium but I still think it has another leg down. I see this upward trend in base metals, and gold looks iffy to me, but I really don't have much faith in gold anyway so I am biased.
Both IVN and MIN were deep value propositions, and when IVN was trading below cash value, I backed up the truck. I've sold a few here and there but I'm holding my core to see this through to when the trend levels or begins to reverse.
MIN sat a long time with gentle gains, but I think has perhaps even better prospects in the year to come. The normal valuation from feasibility to funded stages is a big rise, so I think there is a lot more in terms of gains to happen there. Like IVN, the chart looks fantastic but there are also trades in there of about 10-15% if you want to. Both have graduated to the TSX during this recovery along with another of my recent holdings (NCA). This confirms my value hypothesis as they have emerged with strong balance sheets and prospects going forward. CUU and it's dabblings (CXM) are examples of venture stocks that remain in the penalty box for obvious reasons, and there are many like them out there.
Otherwise, I see little in the market that makes me very excited. I'm not really trading these days, just holding a few long positions. Things are too good to waste time in front of the computer watching the MM play with people's minds. The bear metals market also made me to trigger-happy to sell on the slightest gain, so I have had to step back to not cash out on what are multi-baggers.
I have a list of prospect explorers that I am digging into and after PDAC I'll be willing to share their names (they will be high risk). I want to talk to he geos first, but it looks promising for another cycle of fun with the microcaps in mining in the year ahead, maybe. |
