Paul,
I can't believe you are still caught up in this "us vs them" stuff.
The street is not looking at whether Intel can run AMD in the ground but what it will cost Intel on their bottom line. Asia may be even a bigger factor. Best scenario is for AMD to survive break even with just enough pressure from Intel to put a crimp in AMDs R&D budget. Intel stays a couple of speed grades ahead and takes the cream off the top...that's OK. Megahertz sells...and that obviously helps Intel.
Because of the lost cost of Intels production they will easily keep AMD in check...as I said before...the key is keep moving the Megahertzies forward. Intel is doing just fine in that respect.

When I first came on the BB I didn't realize a couple of important things...chips aren't that easy to make and just how good Intel was at making them vis a vis AMD. Cyrix, with IBM at the FAB would always be behind because of logistics and IBM not using their cutting edge technology. Thanks to Yousef, I saw the light.

Jim
