I would view the CA solution the plan B emergency chute.

Have you ever had an addict in your life? You can't fix them; at some point, you will realize you will go down with them if you don't get out. You don't tell them FU, you finally reconcile that you can't save them but you can save yourself. The ones you leave behind deserved to be saved, but only THEY can do it.

And a regime that proposes to loot another country (for expense WE created) certainly would come after them with all guns blazing, not wanting to lose the gravy boat they are using to subsidize the rest of the country.

I should add we are not anywhere close to the point where leaving is the only remaining option. Remember H. received the more votes, and I believe that in the younger, largely didn't bother to vote generation, they are even more heavily leaning center or left of center.
