experienced how a biased and myopic media operates, and the common "modus operandi" that they use to achieve their own narrow and self interest type ends .... Very true. We were in Singapore for 5 days and Kuala Lumpur for 2 and now Bangkok for 7. CNN and the BBC are the news sources for English speaking international news at the two hotels (Sheraton and Mariott) we stayed at so I suspect that that is commonplace for the non majors as well. Their commentary is definitely biased, questioning almost all of Trump's decisions. The impact of this can be exemplified by the fact that we were befriended by the owner of a small restaurant who asked us if we were concerned by Trump's election and the consequences of it. Like, were we maybe scoping out Singapore to escape the coming Trump tyranny? I assured him that the checks and balances of our government make this difficult so I allayed his concern but it shows you what is going on.
