Shitake logs.

Some of you may be interested in growing Shitake mushrooms. There are a few web sites that sell mushroom spoors, usually $20 will get you enough for 20 logs, 3 feet long. Shitake mushrooms are easy to grow, lots of protein, and can provide you with a lot to store.

We dry them and put them in zip lock bags. They will keep for years.

Plus, very low maintenance and will last for 10-15 years. I have been growing them for 30 years, and I consider them a cheap, easy wait to get protein.

Ps......I have a picture of them flushing, but can't seem to be able to get it to show.
