"The Gift of English." How very true. Asians insist that their kids learn "CNN English." They want them to sound like the announcers. The airlines forced English. Quebec told the pilots they would have to speak French to land there. They were told that in that case they would no longer be landing at Quebec. That was the end of that nonsense. In the 19th Century French was the official Diplomatic language. English took over in the 20th and boy, do the French hate this!
