I know. It's a sad statement on our mainstream media. Awhile back I used to post about how all major media outlets were now consolidated to fewer than 5 companies and that was going to have a corrosive effect on our Democracy, because the owners would push their propaganda and their views through those channels. We're now seeing that prediction come to pass. If I were President, I would have the FTC look into media conglomerates and break them up. We need a highly distributed and competitive media landscape to ensure the American people are exposed to multiple, diverse views. That is how we avoid propaganda and fake news from taking over. It is precisely the opposite of the prescription the liberals give to combat fake news. They want to put more regulations on news, engage in censorship, and shut down news outlets that they don't like. That is Hitleresque. A proper Democratic solution would be to encourage a level playing field, more competition, and more news outlets, as well as ironclad freedom of the press, even when you don't like what they say or how they say it.
