You are wrong on VAT & Duty taxes. For example, in Brazil, they charge greater than 100% tax in imports that will be sold in Brazil. They do not charge that tax for competing goods that are locally manufactured in Brazil. I know this from personal experience. That makes the imported goods non-competitive with the local goods. It would make all the sense in the world for Trump to talk to Brazil and ask them to remove that barrier or face like kind consequences in the US, that would level the playing field. The same thing goes for China. The playing field is not level there, not by a long shot. It's no accident that big companies like Google pulled out and that Uber has failed to really succeed there. In both those cases, copy cat companies were supported and they have taken over the market. Do you think that would have been possible if Google and Uber were allowed to compete in a level playing field? Absolutely not. Look at how they have murdered the competition everywhere else.

Basically, we have a pro football team that is not allowed to bring our pro players to China and other countries. Instead, we are told we are only allowed to bring our High School foot ball team to play against their pro football players. Then when we lose, our previous American Presidents didn't do a damned thing about it. Now Trump is saying, if you don't let us play our pro players, then you can't play your pro players in the US. He's engaging in tit for tat. That's exactly the kind of tough as nails President we need. One that stands up for our citizens.
